Big nugs vs Small ones. Does size matter ? When it comes to cannabis, not one bit. The size of the cannabis buds or nugs does not affect the potency of the plant in any way. Plant potency is determined by genetics and growing conditions.
Now, don’t get me wrong, we like big buds and we cannot lie. Who wouldn’t? Those are the show stoppers. They give you the money shot. But when you get down to the nitty gritty, it’s all just going to get broken down and smoked anyway.
Spoiler Alert: Big nugs can have bigger stems resulting in less smokeable flower than some smaller nugs.
We find that most companies will pack their big beautiful buds in eighths (3.5G) . Some will offer larger packaged amounts such as half or full ounces which typically contain mid size or popcorn nugs. Other brands will package the small nugs as minis, smalls, etc for a discounted price when compared to their “regular” sized buds.
At the end of the day when you break it down, you break. it. down.
