Legend has it that in the 1970s a group of high school guys would meet every day at the same time to do the same thing, without fail. What is that time and thing you ask? 420, blaze it. Yep that’s right every day, this group of guys would meet to smoke cannabis at precisely 4:20pm.

To be more specific, they would meet to smoke at 4:20, after practice, then search for a rumored abandoned cannabis crop. They would pass in the halls reminding one another of the 4:20 meet.

Word eventually got around and the term 420 was born to discreetly discuss cannabis. Today, it’s less discreet as it’s widely known but it’s still used to represent cannabis.
